Great place, for the food & deals Thursday is my favorite day... Oh as of 8/8/25 rates have gone up over 1.00, never told me, sorry about the low tip. Sat & Sunday both higher as well.
Overview
Walking into Young's Buffet on a busy weeknight feels a bit like stepping into a familiar neighborhood gathering spot rather than just another place to eat. Located at 4700 Babcock St NE #27, Palm Bay, FL 32905, United States, this diner-style buffet has quietly built a reputation among locals who care more about comfort, consistency, and value than trendy plating or gimmicks. I first stopped by after a long workday, hungry and short on patience, and it quickly became one of those places I found myself returning to without overthinking it.
The menu leans heavily into classic buffet favorites, mixing American comfort food with Asian-inspired staples. Steam tables usually carry fried rice, lo mein, grilled chicken, mixed vegetables, and rotating seafood dishes. What stood out during my visits was how often the trays were refreshed. I once chatted briefly with a staff member who explained their back-of-house process: smaller batch cooking during peak hours to reduce waste while keeping food hot and flavorful. That approach aligns with recommendations from the USDA on food safety and freshness, especially in self-serve environments.
Dessert is simple but satisfying. Soft-serve ice cream, canned fruit, and a couple of baked items rotate depending on the day. It may not sound fancy, but it matches the overall vibe of the restaurant-no pretense, just reliable options that most diners actually want. Families especially seem to appreciate this setup. On one Saturday afternoon, I watched a parent build three different plates for kids with completely different tastes, something that would be nearly impossible at a traditional sit-down restaurant.
Cleanliness is an area where buffet restaurants often get unfairly judged, so I paid close attention. Tables were cleared quickly, floors stayed tidy, and the serving area was monitored closely. According to CDC guidelines, frequent surface cleaning significantly lowers cross-contamination risks, and from a customer perspective, that effort is visible here. Still, itβs fair to say that during extreme rush hours, the dining room can feel crowded, which may affect the overall experience for diners looking for a quiet meal.
Reviews from regulars often highlight value for money, and that claim holds up. Pricing remains reasonable compared to similar locations in Palm Bay, especially given the variety offered. One longtime customer I spoke with mentioned theyβve been coming here for over five years, mainly because the flavors stay consistent. That kind of loyalty doesnβt happen by accident; it usually reflects steady management and attention to feedback.
The location itself is practical rather than scenic. Set within a shopping plaza, parking is easy and access is straightforward, which matters more than ambiance for many people. If youβre running errands nearby or looking for a place where everyone in your group can find something they like, this spot fits naturally into that routine. Iβve personally recommended it to coworkers who needed a quick lunch option, and several came back saying the same thing: great for groups, easygoing, and filling.
Of course, no restaurant is perfect. If youβre expecting gourmet presentation or highly specialized dishes, this may not match those expectations. The selection focuses on crowd-pleasers rather than niche cuisine. That limitation is worth acknowledging, especially for first-time visitors who may be comparing it to upscale buffets in larger cities.
Overall, the experience here reflects what many diners quietly value most: predictable quality, friendly service, and the freedom to eat exactly what you want. One guest summed it up perfectly during a casual conversation near the drink station, calling it comfort food without the attitude, and that description has stuck with me ever since.

We love going to Crystal buffet since moving to Palm Bay and today we thought of trying Young's buffet for a change during the lunch time and all the food items, ambience, and the service were really nice and great. There was a lot of food items to choose from and everything was hot and fresh. We will be going here again soon. Loved it!!
I was extremely surprised all food was fresh and good quality. There was a wide variety of foods for all taste kids included. Lots of dessert selections as well for those who could still eat dessert after all the wonderful foods that were available.
Came in at 11:00 as they opened. Staff were quick to seat us and very friendly. Food was amazing. Everything was fresh and just cooked. Tons of choices for the meal and for dessert. They have a wonderful selection on their Sushi bar also. If you are looking for a good Chinese Buffet in Palm Bay, look no further. We highly recommend giving them a try.
